PEST MANAGEMENT SERVICES LTD
IS CELEBRATING ITS 25th ANNIVERSARY
'Registered July 1985'

Peter Nelson founded and registered the company in July 1985 and was committed to the History of the Pest Destruction Industry for over 25 years.

Employed as Senior Field Officer for Agricultural Pest Destruction Council, Peter was well known for his knowledge of Pest Destruction in New Zealand and as he was totally committed to the industry he chose to share his knowledge and train others.  For many years with the help of the NZ Technical Correspondence Institute, Peter and others trained many young people under the APCD Trainee Scheme  ...  many of these young people have gone onto hold important positions within the industry.

It was Peter's plan to write a book on the History of the Pest Destruction Industry in his later years, but sadly Peter died before he could achieve this.  From his notes he left us, we intend on sharing some of his papers, thoughts and facts with you very soon via a Bi-monthly Newsletter.

Pest Management Services Ltd was started from Peter and Sheryle Nelson's home in Wellington, initially only with PINDONE Rabbit pellets, which was welcomed by many, to combat the ever increasing Rabbit population.  Not long after that PINDONE Possum pellets for Possum control was introduced as an alternative to traps and shooting.

In later years the business procured the distribution rights for Bell Laboratories USA range of rodent control products, making available the best known and recognised worldwide, 'Contrac' & 'Ditrac' rodent baits and the product range also included bait stations, traps, and more.

Then capturing the market with state of the art possum control products, traps, cages and bait stations, the range then grew and is still growing to include bird control equipment, mustelid control products and also insect control equipment that is much sought after by the home gardener, boaties, farmers, government contractors and commercial companies.
